Toronto Annex Real Estate

One of the more popular neighbourhoods the Toronto Annex is bounded by Bathurst Street to the West, Avenue Road to the east, Dupont St. to the North, and Bloor Street to the South. Tradtionally The Annex has been home to students and faculty of the University of Toronto.

Originally part of the village of Yorkville a subdivision was created in 1886 by a developer by the name of Simeon Janes who named it the Toronto Annex. Many of the homes in the Annex were built during this time and into the early 1900's. This gives it it's character with older Victorian and Edwardian style homes.

The Toronto Annex Real Estate is one of the most expensive neighbourhoods with its affluent and well-educated residents. But the area is also home to multi-unit apartments which house University students and young professionals alike.

The thriving cultural scene, the well serviced public transportation, the local stores and restaurants, all make the Toronto Annex one of the most sot after areas of the city.

Toronto Annex Real Estate value for the year 2007: Homes in the Annex area sold at an average price of $1,039,220.

Annex home sales for 2006: Toronto Annex Real Estate sold at an average price of $1,013,506.

The homes in the Toronto Annex went up in value by 2.5% over this period of time.
